Alfred Walker, Director of Services for PathLight Partners, is a well-known consultant, author, and speaker in the management-consulting field. He was a Principal and Senior Fellow, with Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) for over twenty years. There he was the global practice leader in the HR Strategy, HCM, and Workforce Effectiveness fields. He has consulted for over 200 companies here and abroad including American Airlines, American Express, Citigroup, International Paper, The IRC, J&J, Motorola, Novartis, Prudential, The Red Cross, SAP AG, Sears Roebuck, and The New York Times, and continues that work with PathLight Partners. Prior to that he directed the human resource systems work and developed HR technology applications for Bell Laboratories and the Headquarters Group at AT&T.
He served as an adjunct university professor at Rutgers University and was a founder and board member of both the International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM) and the Human Resources Planning Society (HRPS). Mr. Walker has written three textbooks, two works of fiction, over 70 articles, and served on the editorial board of several leading Human Resource Journals. He is a member of the Children’s Writers Guild and the SCBWI, and holds a BS from Fordham University, MBA in Economics from Seton Hall University and post-graduate work in Operations Research at The Wharton School.
While at Bell Laboratories, Mr. Walker led the team that built the first Human Resource System in the U.S and assisted in its design and programming.
He was the inaugural Summit Award winner given by the IHRIM organization for achievement and contribution over a lifetime to the Human Resources field.
