Alia Jones is a former Smithsonian Intern (NMAI), Elementary School English Teacher in South Korea (Fulbright Scholar), Children’s Bookseller and steady lover of children’s literature. She enjoys finding excellent books to cherish and share with others through her blog. She wishes there was more communication between publishing houses around the world so that she could easily read and experience all the children’s literature the world has to offer! Picture books are her specialty; it’s quite a challenge to pair great art with a great story. Alia has a lifelong love of art and art history and revels in promoting books that are diverse. Diverse books can be not only mirrors but also windows to adventure and possibility for children who need them to be. She remembers how much she loved books like Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters, the American Girl Addy Series and The Berenstain Bears while growing up! Alia believes in the power of stories and imagination.
