Peter Morris (1953-2003) believed that, in every facet of life, comedy was the best antidote to tragedy. After all, comedy is far more interesting – and hopeful- than tragedy. This belief informed nearly all his writing.
Peter studied in the 1970s with John Ashbery and Allen Ginsberg in the MFA Program at Brooklyn College. He worked professionally for over 30 years in advertising in New York and Philadelphia. His poems were published in the following magazines and periodicals: Poetry East, Wormwood Review, The New York Times, The New York Quarterly, Brooklyn Review, The Writer, Chiron Review, California State Poetry Quarterly and Journal of New Jersey Poets.
CWG would like to thank Peter’s wife Anne for sharing his work with us.
