Alvina was born in Hawaii and grew up in Southern California. The minute she started drawing her first unicorn, she knew that her pencil was a magical wand and the ticket to her imagination. Alvina graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in Illustration, and has been illustrating books and magazines.

I love polar bears and wanted to do a picture that shows my skills in drawing children and animals together. I thought a little boy riding a polar bear would cute! This work was done in acrylic.
