After an exciting twenty-year career in Consumer Insights, which saw Princess Altamira calling six countries ‘my home’ at some point, she decided to move on. She left New York City and came back to the Philippines in late 2016.

Princess has always loved storytelling and writing, but up until then, writing stayed tucked away at the back of her mind and on a ‘maybe five years from now’ to do list. But things changed and that feeling grew stronger.

These days, writing is Princess’ focus as she pursues a dream of becoming an author of picture books and poetry for children.

Princess considers children the best audience because they are honest, curious, imaginative, and have an insatiable appetite for fun and adventure, which also make them amazing company and good role models for adults actually.

The biggest inspirations for the work that she does are her three nephews and two nieces whom she adores, and whom she loves telling stories of her childhood and travel adventures to (the boys’ favorite being her African safari in 2011).

When Princess is not writing or studying the writing craft, you’ll find her trying out new restaurants, reading, traveling to a new country or to one of the Philippines’ many glorious beaches, and sweating it out in various fitness classes (like Pilates, Zumba, yoga, boxing).

Her footwear of choice these days is no longer a pair of heels but a pair of sneakers, and while she rarely does full make up, she still loves a bold red lip.
