A new form of poetry is trending: EKPHRASIS.

It’s defined as “a rhetorical device in which one medium of art relates another medium by defining and describing its essence and form, and by doing so communicates more directly to the audience through its illuminative liveliness.”

Experience the current exhibition season at Grounds For Sculpture and use it as inspiration to compose your original ekphrastic poem based on the works on view. Submissions will be juried and selected works will be featured in a commemorative book. Each selected poet will be invited to read their chosen work during our Poets’ Invitational on Sunday, August 30 at 2pm.
