After graduating from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s of Science with a dual major of Sociology and Special Education, Theresa had many exciting experiences. They ranged from teaching and designing educational programs to owning her own sign language business called Signing With Theresa. Theresa always wanted to pursue a career in which she could fulfill her personal and professional goals: to support society’s needs and the needs of the special education population.
Living life as a special education student, Theresa understood what her students felt like. She had had their struggles herself. Theresa had a vision impairment in which she saw double for 30 years, yet she still made her education possible. Due to her experiences as a student, she holds a degree in the special education field and has compassion to move her students forward.
Teaching in the special education field, Theresa has been able to reach all types of learners. She believes that any child can learn, and that we have to teach each student correctly.
One of Theresa’s characters, Mrs. Sunshine, says: “Just remember … Close your eyes and dream … you will get there.”
Theresa grew up in Massachusetts and lived there for 39 years, and now has been transferred with her wonderful Coast Guard family to Virginia. She is a mother of twin boys. Her family is her pride and joy.
Theresa has written many books on special education topics from both her personal and teaching experiences. She will be releasing more of her educational books soon. Other educational titles include Midnight Versus Sunshine and Best Buds for Life.
Additional books include a story about family life with a young girl helping her father through heart surgery with a special bond and their special penny called Bermuda Penny, My Father, Robbie and Ava and Me. Passion Land is a fun adventure book about a young girl going on an amazing journey.
